Happy 30th, Vick!

Happy 30th birthday to my very dear friend, Vickie!

How blessed I am to call you my friend. I love you and cherish our times together more than you will ever know. I have spent some of the best days of my life with you by my side, and for that, I am forever grateful. Cheers to 30 years of one heck of a person and 30 more of laughter, fun and sharing the joys of our lives together.  Here's to you....

I love you, Vick, and hope you have the best day ever. Cheers, my friend!

Just some thoughts...

  • This summer is flying by. I cannot believe it is already almost the end of June. The weather in Cola has been ridiculously hot and the gnats and mosquitos are out of control. We have spent many days in the pool or having play dates inside. It is just too hot to be outside without water nearby.
  • We are heading out of town on Thursday for a very special weekend. My sweet brother is getting married on Saturday! We are looking forward to the festivities and celebrating with the newlyweds!
  •  After the wedding weekend, me and the girls will be spending a few days at the lake before heading to the beach for the 4th. Sean's birthday is July 4th, so we always spend that week as a family beachin' it. This year, some sweet friends will be joining us for a few days to ring in the holiday. I'm looking forward to the sunshine, the salt air and some relaxation.
  • Speaking of needing some relaxation, I am officially exhausted. I was chatting with my mom the other day, telling her that I wasn't feeling quite right, and I think it's due to just pure exhaustion. We have been some serious road warriors this summer, and all the driving and traveling has really worn me out.
  • My sweet husband brought these home for me yesterday. What a nice surprise. I am loving sunflowers this summer.

  • We spent the past weekend planting at our house and I love how it is turning out. Our yard makes me smile when I pull up :).
  • My dear friend from college lost her mom to a 2 year battle with cancer a few weeks back. Please remember her in your prayers.
  • Anyone loving Pinterest as much as I am? I love having a place for great style and design ideas!
  • Saylor has officially moved to her room 100% of the time. She is sleeping like a charm in her crib, both at naps and at night time (praying I'm not speaking too soon, ha!). She has a little snuggie she likes to hold when she goes to sleep. Too cute. Here she is after her nap yesterday. Love her.

happy tuesday, friends, from our house to yours.

Father's Day pics for Daddy...

For Father's Day, I wanted to surprise Sean with a canvas of "his girls". I booked a local photographer and we met her at the Horseshoe on USC's campus. I am thrilled with how the pictures turned out, and love the shots of the girls. The first picture is now on a canvas in our house! Here is a peek of a few shots...

We had a great Father's Day weekend and Sean loved the pics. We also surprised him with a massage Saturday morning. He was so excited and it was much deserved. I am so thankful my little girls have such a wonderful daddy to love on them.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Happy Father's Day x 2

I am beyond blessed on this Father's Day to be able to celebrate two of the most amazing men I know. My Dad... my dad is just amazing. He has loved me with a fathers love since the day I was born. At my wedding, he surprised me with our first dance to this song:
Seriously, even today, my eyes well up with tears when I listen to it. I have never in my life felt such deep emotion and love for my dad. My dad is a tough man... I think in my lifetime I have seen him cry once, when my sweet PawPaw went to be with Jesus (ummm, cue tears, as I typed that. Happy Father's day to PawPaw - we miss you everyday!). But as tough as a man as he is, he is also the man that puffy painted Christmas sweatshirts with me every year (and has kept them ;), let me wear my green jelly's with socks to the mall when my mom wouldn't, and supported me on ever journey I have made in my life. He moved me to college, and cheered me on as I earned my degree. He moved me to DC, and cheered me on as I started my first "real" job in a big city. And he put my hand in my husbands on the day we were married, showing his support for the new man to care for me and love me. I am thankful for a Dad that taught me the real meaning of love...

Happy Father's Day, Dad... I love you forever.

And the other amazing man I get to celebrate today is my sweet husband. Not only truly wonderful to me, but oh the love I have felt watching him love on his little girls.

I have felt no greater joy then to watch the man I love, love on our littles. Happy Father's Day, Sean... You are the rock and solid ground of our family. I love to watch the girls faces light up as soon as they see you. I love to watch you embrace them and love on them. Thank you for being the best daddy!
