Catching up...

- Happy 4th week, friends. We've been at the beach since last Friday enjoying a wonderful family vacation. Sean's birthday is the 4th, so we like to celebrate down here each year. We had some fun friends join us for the first part of our week and really had a wonderful time. The beach weather has been just perfect... The kids loved playing on the beach all day and we wore them out good so us adults could enjoy the nights.
- Last week, me and the girls headed to Greensboro for a few days to stay at my parent's house. Carrie, Katie and I took Chloe to the Taylor Swift concert. She had an absolute blast and has been singing and dancing like TS since the concert. She keeps saying she is "Taylor Swift's biggest fan!"
- Saylor is loving the beach and is a great little beach bum. She loves to play in the sand and has napped in her pack and play on the beach each day like a champ. We took the boat out the other night, and although she was good when the boat was moving, little peanut was not a fan of the life jacket, ha!
- I have enjoyed rocking on the front porch and drinking bloody mary's with my husband so much this week. We have watched movies, layed on the beach, drank wine and have really loved having some down time together. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day, so this trip has been just what we needed.
- 4 years ago today my PawPaw went to be with Jesus. 07-07-07. I miss him every single day. Being on the beach this week has reminded me of all the times we spent with him growing up on beach vacations. He used to always take a nap on his beach chair with his hat over his face, ha. He would make us breakfast. And we would all pile in to go eat at the fish camp in the evenings. As we left the fish camp, PawPaw always shook his hand, doling out mints to everyone. Ha! Love you PawPaw.

Pictures to come of the our beach vacation, Taylor Swift concert and more... Have a great week!

Just some thoughts...

  • This summer is flying by. I cannot believe it is already almost the end of June. The weather in Cola has been ridiculously hot and the gnats and mosquitos are out of control. We have spent many days in the pool or having play dates inside. It is just too hot to be outside without water nearby.
  • We are heading out of town on Thursday for a very special weekend. My sweet brother is getting married on Saturday! We are looking forward to the festivities and celebrating with the newlyweds!
  •  After the wedding weekend, me and the girls will be spending a few days at the lake before heading to the beach for the 4th. Sean's birthday is July 4th, so we always spend that week as a family beachin' it. This year, some sweet friends will be joining us for a few days to ring in the holiday. I'm looking forward to the sunshine, the salt air and some relaxation.
  • Speaking of needing some relaxation, I am officially exhausted. I was chatting with my mom the other day, telling her that I wasn't feeling quite right, and I think it's due to just pure exhaustion. We have been some serious road warriors this summer, and all the driving and traveling has really worn me out.
  • My sweet husband brought these home for me yesterday. What a nice surprise. I am loving sunflowers this summer.

  • We spent the past weekend planting at our house and I love how it is turning out. Our yard makes me smile when I pull up :).
  • My dear friend from college lost her mom to a 2 year battle with cancer a few weeks back. Please remember her in your prayers.
  • Anyone loving Pinterest as much as I am? I love having a place for great style and design ideas!
  • Saylor has officially moved to her room 100% of the time. She is sleeping like a charm in her crib, both at naps and at night time (praying I'm not speaking too soon, ha!). She has a little snuggie she likes to hold when she goes to sleep. Too cute. Here she is after her nap yesterday. Love her.

happy tuesday, friends, from our house to yours.

Disney World!

Last week we heading to Florida to spend 4 days at Disney World. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to take the girls back again! Chloe had an absolute blast and Saylor was a breeze. Such a fun time!
