Photo a day

As we finish out the month of January, I have been thinking of ways to celebrate the upcoming month of love... Last year, I posted something I loved everyday for 28 days. This year, I'm going to dive into the photo a day challenge :).

Happy last day of January, friends!

All things blue, part 2...

Things I don't want to forget...

Saylor and I have been playing all morning, and have been having so much fun! I have been thinking of how much she is learning with each passing day. She is 14 months and is changing so much.

A few of her (current) favorite things:
  • throwing a ball and chasing after it all through the house
  • rocking and snuggling with her baby dolls
  • giving her baby dolls a bottle
  • coloring (this is her first masterpiece!)
  • filling up and dumping out cups
  • goldfish!
  • playing outside... whether swinging, strolling or just being, Say loves to be outside.
  • brushing my hair or daddy's hair
  • clapping for herself and saying "yay" when she does something she's proud of
  • reading books (she has 3 favorites we read each night and 2 other favorites we read 20+ times during the day)
This is such a sweet, precious time in Saylor's life, and I don't want to forget a thing :)!

Tuesday randoms...

1 - We have been working on the finishing touches in Baker's nursery, where we currently have atleast 5 different shades of paint on the wall. And have we made a decision on the color? Not yet. But I think we are getting close. Finding the "lightest-shade-of-blue-in-the-world-that-almost-looks-white," not as easy as I thought. It is still a work in progress!

2 - The weather has been so nasty and rainy this week and hasn't helped with the extremely long days. Saylor and I do much better (and are much happier) when we can get outside, even if only for a little while. We've resorted to pulling every riding toy we own into the house, as well as pulling out anything I can think of to keep her entertained.

3 - I started Beth Moore's new Bible study last week on the book of James, and I am loving it! The book of James has only 5 books, but man, it is packed full of goodness. I am soaking it all in and really enjoying it.

4 - This past Friday night, we took Chloe and her buddy from school to the circus for her birthday. Talk about 2 little girls having a great time! They enjoyed pizza at Mellow Mushroom, cotton candy, snow cones and lots of laughter.

5 - I am quite certain Baby Baker is a ninja baby. Sean and I laugh often as I get kicked and punched from the little fella. I went to the doctor last week for a checkup and am currently measuring 2 weeks ahead. Everything is looking great and seems to be right on track! I can't wait to meet him!

Happy Tuesday, sweet friends. Hope your week is filled with laughter and extra hugs. xoxo

On Toddlerhood.

Toddlerhood... We have arrived.

Up until a few weeks ago, Saylor still seemed like a baby to me. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of having a toddler. She turned 14 months last week, and all of a sudden, a toddler was born. The days of thinking I still have a baby have flown out the window. Here are the days of stubborness mixed with extreme sweetness. Frustrations mixed with a huge sense of accomplishment (she claps for herself and says "yay" quite often... especially when she has done something she is proud of, ha!).

My super laid back, easy going little girl? Yeah, that's gone too. She has found herself wanting to be more independant and wanting to try everything she can. I love her spirit, but boy, can frustration set in when she can't quite accomplish the task at hand.

I've decided this is a hard stage. They know what they want, but with such a limited vocabulary, we, as parents, don't always understand what they need. It's a guessing game as she points, says "this" or "that," and we pick up everything in sight, hoping to land on a winner (which usually happens to be the last thing I would think, or the smallest object imaginable). Ha!

I love the adventure she feels and her excitement at learning something new. I love that she plays hard but still loves to snuggle hard. I love that she loves her mommy and daddy so very much, and makes that quite clear to us. I love that she loves to wear bows, says the word "bow" and leans her head down for me to put it in her hair. Such a mommy's girl. I love that she says "hi" and "bye" to everyone when we are at the grocery store. I love that she climbs up in my lap and lays her head down, just for a quick snuggle.

It may be a hard stage, but it sure is a sweet one. Here's to the joys and woes of toddlerhood!

Weeks 25 - 30, Baby Baker

Second pregnancies go by so darn quick! I can't believe I am at the 30 week mark. I have gotten a bit behind on my weekly posts, so here is a quick catch up of weeks 25 - 30.

For the most part, these weeks have been pretty uneventful. Unlike my last pregnancy, though, this pregnancy seems to be a bit more uncomfortable. I have had quite a bit of sciatic nerve pain as well as back pain (might have something to do with being 30 weeks pregnant and toting a 14 month old baby around all day!). The doctor said when you have babies this close together, you really feel it all the second time around, ha.

Starting this week, I am seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. I passed my glucose test a few weeks back and had my rhogam shot last week (for being rh-). The nursery furniture is all in, and the room is really coming together. Now if I could just decide on a paint color :).

Belly shot from week 28:

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 30 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 12 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Wearing mostly dresses and maternity leggings.
Best Moment this week: Seeing my belly move around

Movement: Lot's of movement.... I keep telling Sean we have a ninja baby!
Food Craving: grapefruits and hot chocolate
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly
Sleep: It's getting a little more difficult... lots of back pain
What I am looking forward to: Meeting my sweet little fella!
Belly Button: In
Stretch Marks: None yet.
Symptoms: Feeling good for the most part... Tiredness has kicked in as well as back pain, etc.
