6 months!

Happy 6 months, sweet Baker!
And just like last month, your sister couldn't bear not to join you for your pics ;)!
She even, so sweetly, clobbered you with a hug! Just showin' the love, I guess!
You are such a big boy and we just love you to pieces!
We went to the doctor today for your 6 month well check and here are your stats!
Weight: 21.88 (98th %)
Height: 27in (65th %)
Head: 18in (98th %)
Needless to say, you are a big fella! You haven't been eating well at all lately, but doc didn't seem worried at all, judging by how much you have grown! You won't nurse very well or take a bottle and you will not eat baby food. You don't like it at all. You will eat some baby oatmeal or rice cereal, and occasionally I can sneak a vegetable in if I mix it, but other than that, it's just not your thing. Maybe you're just working on that beach bod! Ha!
You talk, laugh and smile constantly. You think your daddy is SO funny. Your new favorite thing to say is "babababa" and it makes you giggle. You love your play mat and especially love your bouncer! When I picked you up from the church nursery the other day, they told me you bounced your little heart out almost the whole hour!

You can sit up all by yourself now, although I don't feel totally confident walking away just yet, as we still have a little wobbling going on from time to time. You love to sit and play with toys! And you love your Sophie the giraffe. You have decided you don't love being on your tummy and roll over shortly after I put you down.
You are one handsome little boy! You wear size 4 diapers and 9 month clothes. I am buying 12 month clothes for the fall/winter, because at the rate you are growing, you'll be out of everything we have soon :)! You are such a happy baby and so easy going. And did I mention you are your sister's very own baby doll? What a trooper you are B!

You still love your swaddle and your basket, although, you are now back in your crib! You have had 2 ear infections lately, and ever since have taken to waking up once a night to eat. You go to bed at 8 and get up around 7 each morning. You are still a wonderful napper, usually going down around 9am and 2pm, and sleeping for 2 hours each. Although this momma is tired getting up with you at night, it's nice to have a little bit of quiet time with just you. I cherish our sweet moments together. At the doc today, he said your gums were looking swollen, so I am wondering if we have teeth on the horizon as well. We also have an ENT appointment for you next week, so hopefully we can get this ear thing worked out for you!
We love you so much, darling boy. I cannot believe you are 6 months old. It seems like just yesterday I held a sweet, sleepy infant to my chest, feeling as though my heart just might explode. Your sisters love you to death and your mommy and daddy are loving watching you grow so much. Your smile is infectious, your laugh is a delight, and you look just like your daddy. What a great combo!
I love you, sweet baby boy. So very much. You are such a perfect addition to your family!

Happy 6 months, my love.

Preschool: Day 2

Yesterday was Saylor's second day of preschool. She will be going Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-1.

We pulled up in the church parking lot and she immediately said, "school, yay!". My once won't-leave-her-mommy's-side child has suddenly found her wings and loves school.

She carried her bag right into her classroom, gave it to her teacher and proceeded to sit in her seat at the table. She might not have even said bye to her mommy if I hadn't walked over to her to kiss her bye.

She had another great day, so much so, when I got there to pick her up she had her blanket and her paci and was asleep in her teacher's lap. I guess preschool is hard work for a little girl.

She loved it.

Saylor had a great first day of preschool. Daddy and I dropped her off this morning and much to my surprise, NO tears. Could not believe it. She did great, it was momma who was melting down. I called the school about an hour after I left and they said she was doing fantastic and no tears at all!
I peeked in the classroom at pick up and she was playing and having a good time. So proud of my girl.

Mommy sure missed her today, but I am thankful for sweet teachers and new friends!

Saylor's 1st day of preschool

Pictures for now, while she's at school and mommy is missing her! Be back later with a full report :)

2 months!

Happy 2 months, sweet Baker!

You are the most precious little angel. So sweet. So calm. So peaceful. You are such a laid back little fella and such a delight. We sure are proud of you and are loving every minute of watching you grow.
You are getting the sweetest little personality. You smile all the time and kick your legs with excitement. You are such a happy boy!

You went to the doctor yesterday and you are getting so big! You are weighing in at 13lbs 10oz! It took your sister 4 months to be that big, haha. We just moved you to size 2 diapers, reluctantly, as I had just ordered a huge box of size 1's (thankfully, your cousin Bentley is set to arrive in the next few days so we'll be sending them his way!). You wear size 3 months or 3-6 months clothes.
2 month stats
weight: 13 lbs 10 oz (85%)
height: 23 in (57%)
head: 16 in (93%)

You are still strictly breastfed and eat every 3 hours during the day. You go to bed at 9 and usually wake up anytime between 3am - 5am to eat, before going back to bed until 7 or 8am. You love your crib and love to sleep swaddled up (although you bust out every night!). You are a great napper and take 3 big naps a day and one small nap in the evenings. You love bath time and snuggling with your daddy before bed!
You love your paci and I am convinced it has made you the easiest baby on the planet. You still never cry. And I mean never. Such a blessing you are, little man.
Your sisters love you to pieces and Saylor has made it her job to be your care taker! She is constantly putting your paci in, covering you with her blanket and patting your back during tummy time. I can't wait to see you guys grow up together!

I'm so proud to be your mommy, Baker. You have blessed our lives in the most beautiful ways. I never knew my heart could love someone so much. You are so loved by us all.

Happy 2 months, darling boy. Love you forever.

18 month stats

Saylor's 18 month stats
weight: 23.25 lbs (58th%)
height: 31.75 in (47th%)
head: 18.25 in (52.68%)

Doctor said she looks great and healthy and she was wonderful during her appointment. She had a few shots but handled those like a champ. Just a few tears then she was good to go. It's hard to believe how big she has gotten. My baby girl is growing up so fast :(

18 months!

Happy 18 months, sweet Saylor!
Where in the world has the time gone? You have grown into a precious toddler in what seems to be overnight. You are growing, changing and learning so much every single day. I am so thankful to be able to be at home with you to teach you and watch you explore and learn all this world has to offer.

The way your eyes light up when you smile makes my day. I love when you smile behind your paci. I love that your laughter fills our home and makes me grin from ear to ear. Your personality is really starting to come through and you are hilarious! You are quite the cautious little thing, which I am thankful for, and you really do listen so well.

We go for your 18 month appointment next week, but I think you weigh about 23 lbs. You wear size 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers. You wear a size 5 shoe (and you LOVE shoes, by the way. You are so your mother's daughter!).
You absolutely love to play outside and that is where you are the happiest! You also love to play with baby dolls and are quite the mother hen. You love to carry a purse around the house and talk on the phone. You love to wear bows in your hair. You love to play with your sister and you love snuggling on your brother.

You are so happy and sweet and can also be a fireball. You definitely have a feisty side and we refer to you around here as "pistol annie!" You say lots of words and jabber all day long. It seems as though you pick up a new word each day!
You are a momma's girl, for sure. Daddy keeps thinking you're going to be a daddy's girl... but so far, you stick tight with your mommy :)!

You are a pure delight, little angel, and I am so very proud to be your mommy. You are a ray of sunshine and make me smile every single day!
Love you forever, Say.

You are smart. You are beautiful. You are loved.

Saylor's 1st dentist appt

A few weeks ago, Saylor had her very first dentist appointment, at the ripe old age of 17 months. Apparently, from what the dentist told me, they like to see little ones as soon as they turn a year old. Crazy :)!
Sitting in mommy's lap at the dentist
We strolled into the dentist office and I was fully prepared for a melt down from my little princess. She doesn't love going to the doctor's office (who can blame her, right?!), and I felt certain she would feel the same way about the dentist.

Much to my surprise, she did great! She played while we waited, continued to play while the nurse chatted with me and was a rockstar when the dentist came in. No tears, no screaming and opened her mouth for the dentist like an old pro. Being that she is so little, they have her sit in my lap, straddling me, and then she layed back into the dentist's lap. Could not believe how great she did!

She was thrilled with the new toothbrush they gave her and carried it around more much of the day. Way to go, baby girl!
