Brain Dump

1 - The weeks are absolutely zooming by around here. Yes, I admit, some days are very LONG, but man, time really does fly. I heard once that as a mommy to little ones, time really does fly, but in between there are really long 15 minute periods. Can I get an amen? I wouldn't trade a second, though, getting to stay home with my little loves. Just this morning, we had some snuggle time with mommy. Now that's a full lap.
2 - Baker is doing wonderful and was 6 weeks old yesterday! He is getting so big. We were at the doctor last week and he weighed 11 lbs. I cannot believe how fast he is growing. I'm pretty sure it took Saylor atleast 3 months to weigh 11 lbs. Boys :). He is sleeping like a dream. After his bath, I put him down at 9pm and 2 nights this week he slept 9pm - 5am and the other 2 nights he slept 9pm - 4am. Bye bye dark circles for this momma, haha. I nurse him and he goes right back down until I wake him to eat before the circus starts around here.

3 - Speaking of the circus, one afternoon this week I had to go to the post office. I absolutely would not have drug three children in there if I didn't have to go, but unfortunately, I did. (For the record, the post office has joined the list of the most terrible places to go, right up there with the DMV and the cell phone store). Here I go, waltzing in there, 3 boxes to ship and a car seat in one hand, holding a toddler in the other and making sure Chloe is staying with us, all in 95 degree heat. This is clearly a train wreck in the making. We enter the post office, only to be greeted by a line out the door (insert: very large sigh and stress boiling over). And we waited. And waited. For 30 torturous minutes while I tried to juggle my circus act. Chloe and Saylor under counters. Saylor climbing on display racks while sweet people in line helped her up and down. Moving boxes and the car seat forward as we inched our way up in the line. We were such a sight that the kind lady behind my leaned forward and whispered in my ear "I promise, you're going to miss this." (Okay, I am sure I am, but that day, I was just trying to survive!) The postal worker was handing out priority mail stickers to the girls just to keep them entertained. And to top it all off, I had handed Saylor my debit card to play with while we were in there, and when it was time to check out and I took my card from her: cue complete meltdown on the post office floor. Take 1, Act 1, Scene 1. We deserved a round of applause, and surely had some people laughing at us as we exited the post office. Needless to say, never again will I do that. And I mean never.

4 - On a lighter note, I have been loving American Idol these past few weeks and was so sad to see Skylar go home last night. She was one of my favorites!

5 - Other things I have been loving: the Lionel Richie Tuskegee Album (the one with all the country singers). It is awesome!

6 - Saylor is loving some baby dolls these days. She carries them everywhere. Rocks them. Feeds them. Pats their backs. She is such a little mother hen and I love it!
Happy Friday and weekend to all of you! xoxo

  5. Kilbi, Baker is just as precious as Saylor! I knew he would be, your family is so cute! I don't know if I qualify since I'm only a mother of one, but you get an AMEN from me on your timeline!! It's so funny that the weeks fly by, but I completely agree that sometimes 15 minutes feels like an hour. I loved your post office story, brave mama! I don't know how y'all do it, but I guess you just figure it out and I'll do the same when we add on to our family again:) Hope y'all have a great week!
