19 weeks pregnant

Week 19 has rolled in rather quickly... We had a busy weekend and even got to have Sean in town for one extra day! Chloe's gymnastics recital was last night and it was just precious. Pictures to come!

I am still sick everyday (blech!) but the headaches have gotten better. I am sleeping a little better at night as well. This is the big week! Our appointment is Thursday morning at 8:30am to find out the sex of the baby!

pink or blue?

I must say my entire pregnancy I have felt like it was a boy. Then about a week ago I started thinking girl. This morning, I woke up certain that this baby in my belly is a little boy. Ha! So we will just have to wait another day and see. I am so excited and anxious about finding out!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along:  19 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  1 pound last week - will know at my appt Thursday
Maternity Clothes:  No maternity clothes yet... making good use of my belly band and lots of summer dresses
Best Moment this week:  getting excited about finding out the gender!
Gender:  2 more days and we'll know!
Movement: Feeling baby move again this week!
Food Craving:  Krispy Kreme this week! Yum!
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly!
Sleep:  Starting to get better!
What I am looking forward to:  Finding out on Thursday!
Belly Button:  In
Stretch Marks: None yet. Yikes.
Symptoms:  Nausea. Nausea. Nausea. Blech!

On another note... my best friend Carrie and her family have suffered a tremendous loss. We are heading to Conover this evening for the Celebration of Life. Please keep their family in your prayers as this is a terrible time for their precious family.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. - 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5

Week 18

18 weeks prego....

How your baby's growing:

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along:  18 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  1 pound
Maternity Clothes:  No maternity clothes yet... making good use of my belly band and lots of summer dresses
Best Moment this week:  Feeling baby move for the first time!
Gender:  Don't know yet... find out next week!
Movement: Starting to feel a few flutters here and there :)
Food Craving:  Nothing really... crushed ice!
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly!
Sleep:  Some days I sleep pretty good, others, I am up all night
What I am looking forward to:  Finding out the sex next week!
Belly Button:  In
Stretch Marks: None yet. Yikes.
Symptoms:  Nausea. Nausea. Nausea. Blech!

The Gang's All Here

We have returned back to reality after a gorgeous weekend at the beach. I truly don't think we could have ordered up better weather! It was perfect every single day... We enjoyed having the whole family together (we missed you Susie, Tripp and Spence!) and spent lots of time relaxing! I was feeling a bit under the weather, as week 17 of pregnancy proved to not let up any on the nausea front. I keep hoping it's going to give me a break, but no such luck yet. I unfortunately only got to enjoy the sun 2 days of our trip, as the sickness kept me inside and in the bed. Blech!

The gang's all here:

On Thursday night while at the beach, I felt Baby Branch move for the first time. L.O.V.E. So precious. Felt like little flutters in my belly! It all is seeming so real now, ha! This is what baby center says about this past week:

By 17 weeks pregnant your bean may be up to 4.8 inches in length and may weigh more than 3.5 ounces! Most babies are the size of a large apple by pregnancy week 17!

During pregnancy week 17 your baby concerns herself with swimming gleefully about her home. As you continue your pregnancy week by week your baby will start converting her cartilage skeleton into bone. This will require ample calcium consumption on mom's part so be sure to drink your milk! By pregnancy at 17 weeks most babies can hear outside of the womb. Now is a good time to start reading to your baby or putting on nice, soothing music during the day.You baby will start putting on a little fat in the upcoming weeks, though your baby will do most of her bulking up during the last few weeks of pregnancy. This is a good time to connect with your bundle of joy. When you have time, consider rubbing your belly in long circular motions. Even at this early stage of pregnancy this can provide a calming and comforting sensation to your little one. It's also a great way for daddy's to connect to their unborn baby.

Yesterday, before heading home, Sean and I stopped at a baby boutique in Wilmington to look at strollers, etc. So fun. We spent the afternoon in Wilmington, then headed to the movies to see Sex and the City 2. After hearing the reviews, my expectations were not too high. The movie was a bit of a stretch, and the 1st was definitely better but I always enjoy seeing the girls!

So now we are at week 18... and next Thursday, we find out if it's a boy or a girl! I cannot wait!!
